Ο ʼρης (Νίκος Κούρκουλος) αποφυλακίζεται μετά από τρία χρόνια κάθειρξης και εμφανίζεται στην Τρούμπα. Σκοπός του δεν είναι τόσο το ξεκαθάρισμα παλιών λογαριασμών, αλλά να μάθει αν ανάμεσα σ’ εκείνους που τον πρόδωσαν ήταν κι η Λόλα (Τζένη Καρέζη), μια κοπέλα που δουλεύει στο καμπαρέ του Στέλιου. Ο ʼρης, που αγαπά και νοιάζεται τη Λόλα, θέλει να τη βγάλει από το βούρκο, αλλά ο Στέλιος, που είναι επίσης ερωτευμένος μαζί της, αναθέτει σ’ έναν μπράβο του να σκοτώσει τον πρώτο. Την ώρα που ο ʼρης και ο μπράβος μονομαχούν με μαχαίρια, οι άνθρωποι του Στέλιου απαγάγουν τη Λόλα και την κλείνουν σ’ ένα σπίτι, αναγκάζοντας έτσι τον ʼρη να συγκρουστεί μαζί τους.
